8th Day - Need to Wait Longer

I've been sighing alot today...
Monday is public holiday in Korea... so everything will start on Tuesday...
sigh...
I really look forward for tomorrow because then I have something to do...
but anyway... another day of leisure...
But now since almost everyone has arrived in the dorm, it's becoming noisier around here...

other than that, I really have nothing to report about... LOL...
just finishing my IY... enjoyable, at least ^^

PS: Aaaargh! My pink hook I used for towel dropped! it's not that strong afterall... need to borrow the lighter again... hmmm... quite dissapointed with myself now

7th Day - Nonsan and New Roomate

Probably you'll get tired hearing the word Nonsan... it's because that's the closest entertainment source right now...

We went in the afternoon, and I had the green pancake like the one I had the last time... I really like it...

We once again visited the 'all 1000' shop even though in practice they have stuff priced more than 1000...
I noticed this apron... sooo Korean right?? I wanted to get my mom and sis, but really, who cooks with apron nowadays?
From this store, I bought the bowl (if one day I wanna cook noodles), hooks for my clothes and towel, and the notebook (which turns out to be squared books... now I really have to take Chinese...)
I got 2 more colors from Faceshop... someone, close the store already so I won't keep on wasting money.
I got my pictures done... it's pretty weird, really... the guy took like 5 pics, but he didn't let me choose... so what he will print out basically will base on his personal taste... and he kept on telling me to lift my chin up... I look kinda arrogant now
We got lunch @Mister Pizza...

This is what we ordered... it's like shrimp covered by noodle-like potato, with lemon dipping
The pizza is with crab on top... nice...
The cute thing is, they have kkokkoma (sweet potato) inside... instead of cheese... but it tastes really good.

The last destination was the market. I bought like 4 random types of instant noodles and 1 biscuit... oooh.... and toilet paper
Since they sell everything in big party, K and I split the toilet paper... each of us still get a dozen... hmmm.... look at the design... pretty sweet but pretty useless on toilet paper
Oh, I also have bought the very famous banana milk all Korean seems to be drinking
If you happen to notice, the route was totally similar to my previous trip there... entertainment much?
When we were walking back home, it was soooo cold... aaaaah... I didn't even feel like talking as walking itself took too much will and energy

So, when I arrived home, I was informed that the new roommate had arrived and was so excited to meet me... which got me excited as well.
I went inside the room, and the other bed was already covered in Hello Kity bedsheet... seems she's fond with pink as well, eh?
Anyway, I finally met this sweet Ahn Ji Hyun... she went in with her 2 other friends... really... they are very cute and nice and sweet... Ji Hyun doesn't really speak English, but I also don't speak Korean... so probably my dictionary will be much used around the room... which is good... supposedly I'll learn faster that way...
but I got to throw some simple Korean phrases to her which she acknowledged the meaning... aaah... that's a relief, isn't it?

She's not going to stay the night tonight since she's meeting friends in Daejeon... that means I get to have webcam conversation on MSN and do weird stuff again... YAAAAY!!!!
SHe'll freak if she sees what I've been doing with webcam on.

I've tried pasting the hooks... looks good, eh? I did them myself ^^

Here's my Korean dining set (though the bowl is a lil Japanese??)

One more thing I forgot mentioning and I think is fascinating enough to be mentioned here is the temperature check... presumably it's due to H1N1 virus (btw I really wish a certain salted fish to recover soon from this), everyone here gets their temperature checked everynight... it's quite uncomfortable since the thermometer travels from one ear to another without being cleaned. Anyway... what's very fascinating is that you get to see everyone in their ready-for-bed state... that translates to facial cream, hair rolls and everything else you usually apply at night so you'll look good the next day...
They usually knock from one door to another around 11:30... blame my late nights on that!

6th Day - Friday Good Food

Lunch today was awesome... we had bulgogi and japchae.. (aren't those what we always get in Korean restaurants?)
The pic was taken in a rush since I don't want the other students to start pointing out "aaaah... she looks new... taking pictures of the food here)

Anyway they tasted soooo nice that I so much looked forward for dinner... (it's not as nice as lunch, but good nevertheless)

I took a stroll outside by myself after lunch... I didn't bother asking the other girls since I really had no plan in mind other than walking around aimlessly.
So I took different direction today.

Sel-ca feels nice. I haven't done so in a while
Since I had no real plan of how far I should be going, I just let my feet took me... until I saw this big lake from afar. I was like okay... let's walk until that lake, take picture and go back...
I went toward the lake which turned out to be looong white cover they usually use to cover their plantation... so there was no lake afterall... before you question my intelligence, it really did look like lake from afar....

Anyway... on my way back, I found another lake (this is if my poor eyes didn't fool me)... this one didn't look so big and quite far from where I stood... but I saw like a couple by the lake... which supports the theory that it was really a lake. And while going back, I realized I haven't walked as far as I thought I have. My imagination failed me...

This is the view outside my window... this is real lake... I swear... it's too close for me to mistake it...

Anyway, after I was settled in the room, K came, we talked and decided to look for Joey before we got back to join the others for evening tea...
But the evening tea was somehow postponed as it was already time for dinner.
After dinner, we carried on talking in Yunita's room... and during it, it was mentioned that it was possible to actually take Mandarin class while you're here... which got me thinking... probably I should try it... we don't have to pay for the class... just the books... I really wish I can join the class... because listening to them talking, I felt like I got a grasp of whatever it was they were saying... so it's a start, isn't it? While I'm at it, why don't I try to learn more...
what do you think?
Or should I go to China next and Japan afterwards?
hahahahha... I sooo want to speak in these 3 languages... but I started a little to late, eh!
Let's just hope my brain can cope up with whatever it is I plan to shove into it.

Anyway, talked to emak and parents today... borrowing phone... again! It's really hard not having cellphone here...

5th Day - Rain... and Moving Day

Huaaaaa
I'm so damn excited right now... So... I'll start writing from the beginning...
I planned to take a looong walk after lunch today...
turned out, it was raining the whole day....
So, I'm pretty much stuck again in the dorm...
Since I have bunch and bunch of stuff to watch, I'm pretty much settled
This is the view from the window in room 412.
Oh btw here's my lunch today... it tastes nice as well... especially that they put ricecake in the 'satay' thing together with this pork/beef/chicken meat (how am I supposed to know? It has no shape). What more fascinating is that they serve udon together with rice...
and the usual menu: my favorite kimchi... i love Korean food. ^^

Around 5 this evening, we were informed the new room arrangement. I didn't plan to move today actually (lazy is my middle name)... but anyway, there's this girl who's supposed to use the room I've been using... So... I have slim to non chance to stay in 412 room.
I moved one floor down. I got to get the opposite view, which is the lake... it's far more beautiful compared than the field... but it's like so dark right now, I can't take any picture of it.

It took 3 journeys to move everything to the new room... I've only stayed here for 5 days... ckckck

Anyway, this new room is... dirtier than the previous one. Apparently, Cookie Monster was here. Cookie crumbles were like... everywhere... even inside the drawer under the bed...
Why? Why would anyone eat over a drawer instead of basin? It left me no choice but to forget my middle name from this afternoon and started working.

But anyway, the previous girl left her towel, which I decided to turn into a rag. I washed it with my LG soap and started cleaning the whole room. My back hurt from bending too much and in the end, my room smells like strawberry... nice ^^ I've unpacked everything and I realized, I've only brought few clothes... I even forgot this tank top which was supposed to go with my blue dress... smart me...

I've pretty much done everything, and so, I turned my laptop on.. and what happened? I lost the connection to the wireless... what theeeeee.... probably the lake has some effect on wireless connection? hehehehe... anyway... I'm pretty much doomed without any communication whatsoever....

But then, K went back with the phone card... yaaay! I called home using Yunita's phone since apparently, the phone downstairs have no electricity... (I don't really get this part either.... how?)
And there, Ka Ming lent me this LAN cable... whoaaaa... jinja kamsa... (don't question me on the spelling)... this is why I was very excited (not so much after 10 min)
I am now able to OL... and if the connection using wireless was awesome, this is like.... wow!
I DL-ed 4 HD videos in 1 min... hehehehe... LG (life is good!)

So, here's my new room... note this: I clean everything by myself!
Room 328 and apparently my name here becomes Sin-Si-A (laugh all you want) and my roomate will be Ms. Ahn Ji Hyun-sshi)

And here's how it looks inside:
See? I have no clothes!!!
My laundry (I need to start doing laundry)
My bed:
Drawers underneath:
My 'corner'... see I'd look smart with the stack of books and DVDs...
Shoes rack... pathetic... only 3 pairs
Washroom:
I'm surrounded with strawberry smell and loving it... ^^

4th Day - Lazy Day

Today, I am spending my whole day lazying around the dorm...
I woke up later (my later here is 9.30 which is very early compared to my previous standard), had breakfast, opened my laptop and the world outside stopped until it was time for lunch.
I was catching up with WGM, Sang Sang, Win Win, HB ep 5...
I went down pretty late for lunch actually... it was already 12.30. I had one of the students who have stayed here longer to teach me table manner in Korean... not so much... but respect is like so important.
I really wish I'll be able to follow each one of them.
I don't want to accidentally offend anyone.
The weather today is warmer than yesterday, which makes me lazier to go out... I just loooove cold weather.
Roommate is out of town for tonight... so I'll be spending tonight alone. I plan to watch more... hhaahhaha.. I'm greedy for entertainment.
But around 4, Yunita arrived and we met for the first time... so we kinda spent hours talking with Li Ching, Ka Ming, Ja Eun.... they have soooo much food in their room that even staying there for 3 hours already make me feel sooo fulll...
I've learned several phrases in Korean... wish I can write it properly, and probably have someone to set my Fujitsu to write in Hangul as well.. heheheh
now is time for IY ep 5... aaaah my useful life...

3rd Day - Nonsan and Noraebang

Stealing the idea of healthy lifestyle, I've been taking the stairs like everytime...
I'm just too lazy to wait around for the elevator...
I probably wouldn't be as healthy anymore when i get the new room. because they said the English speakers will get to be located on the 2nd floor... which mean, i wouldn't have to take so many stairs anymore... bad in a way... i really like the stairs...

I needed to give Joey some of my pass photos, so I went by myself to his office, which mean I get to take some pictures I failed doing the day before because i forgot my camera (it's like a fish forgets to drink)

so, here's the dorms... it's huge, so i need to take it from far back... the left one is boy's room, the right one is girl's

This is the school's main building... it's like huge... looks like some Parliament building

This is me doing my regular sel-ca... it's okay... go on... right click and save it... i know you love me much

This is my address if you want to send me anything... i post this up not for no reason...

After meeting Joey and asked him too many questions, I went back to the room. Since we barely have anything to do around the campus, K and I decided to stroll around the area.

So this is the school's area... it's huge... but it's beautiful, really..

The trees are bare but the streets are not full of strangers...
anyway... this is the bus stop in front of the university... it's called sinwonsa... (probably... wait until I master the language... I haven't even started the class yet)

A lonely namu

The road is empty... you can have a nap and none will crash u unless you're super unlucky

Here's the main entrance to the university (i took the backroad before)

This is the design of how they plan the whole university to be... huge I know...
These are the school's property...

It's me pretending to study of course... since there's nothing to study yet.. even the screen is off...
the 2 oranges were given by this sweet sweet sweet Li Ching...
So, after lunch, Li Ching, K, Mette and Me went to Nonsan...
it was like 30min ride with bus... the fare is 1,200 KRW

so we arrived at the market... the one covering her face is Li Ching... she's so pretty, but she's really shy with camera

the market is sooo colorful

I had thought of putting my head together with the pigs head.. but it's just too disgusting

This is like a pancake... sweet... and tasty... and K and I got to be praised pretty by the ahjumma... heheheh

K-swiss store with f(x)
Baskin Robin thirthy oneeeee.... (like Indonesia doesn't have it... what's wrong with the font btw?)

Old man Jay drank this

Noraebang with Mette, K, Aya, Mina, Saori, Sakina

So... here are the stuff I bought today (this section is dedicated to my beloved Unnie)

This I got from the 'cheap' store... everything is like 1,000 KRW... I spent 6,000 KRW...

This I got from faceshop... I just can't have my nails unpolished... I spent 5,000 KRW

This I got from the supermarket... not sure about the name... I spent 8,600 KRW (the soap itself is already 5,500 KRW)

I realized, I bought a soap with the same brand as my cellphone... it somehow feels wrong to use the soap... but it smells strawberry... so it's nice...
